One to One case study
I first met Naila when I attended the Bradford Primary Improvement Partnership Leadership Development coaching day designed to support New Head Teachers. I quickly realised that she could be instrumental in supporting our school to prepare for our next school inspection.
Naila worked on a 1-1 basis with our senior leaders over a term, to support in the development of a coaching culture within the school.
Individual coaching gave staff the time and space to really reflect on the key barriers that may have affected their practice and also built their skills and confidence in finding solutions. My staff extremely valued the 1:1 time to explore their professional practice, and the confidential nature of the sessions was vital. Naila is extremely skilled and perceptive, her skilled 1:1 sessions with staff really supported them to unpick the barriers they may be facing and to tap into their drivers for why they came into the profession. There is now an open ethos for sharing practice within school and staff are clear about the difference that coaching, rather than mentoring can make.
Naila always leads sessions with fantastic enthusiasm, but also with a clear focus and sense of direction. She offers highly effective challenge, getting staff to really reflect on their core values and barriers. Her very perceptive influence has been profound in shaping our school improvement journey. Her input on how to develop our own school-led system has really set us on a journey to success.
