One to One – Case Study
I worked with Naila through my role as Assistant Headteacher as part of my leadership training. During the time I worked with Naila I applied for the Deputy Head position and was successful. I was so impressed with Naila’s coaching and the impact it had on my professional and personal development that I recommended to my Headteacher that Naila work with our leadership staff and middle leaders. We wanted to ensure that we achieve an Outstanding judgment in our next OFSTED inspection.
During the academic year 2014-15 all Senior Leaders and middle leaders had 1:1 coaching sessions with Naila. An increase in accountability was evidenced immediately; leaders were empowered to take a strong lead in their area of expertise and challenged each other in a constructive environment.
As a result of the work with Naila, there was a marked improvement in terms of holding others to account and ensuring that leaders were performing to the best of their abilities. Senior and Middle Leaders alike were more effective because they were able to challenge underperformance with integrity through building productive and mutually respectful relationships – thus becoming proactive in their roles and going on to secure improved outcomes for all children.
Upon completion of the coaching programme, as Senior Leaders, it was crucial that we evaluated our return on investment and so we asked ourselves the question, what has been the impact of coaching in terms of hard data?
What was our return on our investment?
The school has been successful in terms of gaining an Outstanding grading by a local authority review in January 2015. We had been judged as Good previously in an OFSTED in January 2013. Our school has now been successful in securing Outstanding outcomes for our children. This is outstanding progress and attainment in a challenging school where children join us at very low starting points. This is school where there is no excuse for underachievement. Only excellence will do.
Without a shadow of doubt Naila’s work with the school has been part of this success and we would strongly recommend Naila.
